Could the DNA molecule actually be a miraculous 'computer chip' of sorts?
Is DNA a hyper-advanced technology, put right in front of our faces by a vast super-intelligence?
Has it been sitting there this whole time, just waiting for us to decode it — and develop unimaginably wonderful new technologies?
It's his fuking dog. But also, HOW DID IT KNOW TO LOOK RIGHT IN THE CAMERA???
Black holes may contain whole universes inside them, according to a theory called loop quantum gravity.
The Earth has a large moon, making it unique in the inner solar system. Mercury and Venus have no moons, and Mars has only two small asteroid-sized objects orbiting it. Would life have evolved differently, or even appeared on Earth without the Moon?
An account of experiments supposedly conducted on living cells recovered from a downpour of "Red Rain" in India, 2001. The cells were observed to grow at 300 degrees Celsius, and pressure up to 300 pounds per square centimeter. The cells were seens to reproduce by budding, although chemical analysis did not show the presence of phospherous; present in the backbone of DNA.
There then follows an interview with the researcher, Godfrey Louis, who carried out the experiments.

Apparently there's a paper published on this research, the pdf of which eludes me for the moment, but I'm sure it's a blast so here's the citation:

Earth has been periodically pelleted with comet fragments throughout the Holocene period. The evidence for the break-up of a large (> 50 km), short period (approximately 3.3 years), Earth-orbit-crossing comet is substantial and should be considered as hard as anything a trowel might turn up. What astronomical information cannot convey is the actual effect these periodic bombardment episodes had on human culture; only further digging and sifting will illuminate that aspect.
There is though, another agent which could destroy civilization and do great harm to the environment, a large consignment of elements from space. Such deliveries are not as uncommon as was previously thought, particularly during the past twelve thousand years. Much evidence suggests that humanity witnessed, and was affected by, the break-up of a very large comet over this time period.
One of Russia's central television channels, RTR, has recently aired a documentary about US astronauts who allegedly came across extraterrestrial civilizations. The film showed Russian ufologist Vladimir Azhazha and astronomer Yevgeny Arsyukhin telling that expeditions to the Moon launched within 1969-1972 allegedly came across UFOs.
Haitian clergy attribute the creation of zombies to sorcery. The Vodun religion makes a distinction between the corps cadavre (the physical body), the gwo-bon anj (the animating principle) and the ti-bon anj (agency, awareness and memory). When zombifying someone, the Vodun sorcerer (or bokur) extracts the ti-bon anj of the victim, and retains it in an earthenware jar (where it is then referred to as zombie astral).
Trepanation, or trephination (both derived from the Greek word trypanon, meaning “to bore”) is perhaps the oldest form of neurosurgery. The procedure, which is called a craniotomy in medical terminology, involves the removal of a piece of bone from the skull. It has been performed since prehistoric times.
A just-christened illness involves disorientation, multi-colored fibers bursting from sores, and the sensation of bugs crawling under the skin. Is this an age-old delusion or a disturbing new disease?
